Pharmaserv Logistics opens another pharmaceutical logistics centre in Giessen
The new branch of the pharmaceutical logistics company is located in the immediate vicinity of the Giessen Südkreuz motorway junction with direct access to the A45 motorway, just 10 minutes away from the A5 and the Gambacher Kreuz junction. This enables a fast connection to the most important transport arteries in Central Hesse. Covering an area of around 23,400 m², the site is centrally located between the two existing logistics centres in Marburg and Gross-Gerau.
From around mid-March 2023, the 12,500 m² warehouse will also be available to new pharmaceutical customers. It is divided into three temperature zones: +2° to +8°C, +15° to +25°C and -20°C. The site fulfils the necessary GMP and GDP guidelines and is secured by a perimeter fence and video surveillance, among other things.
The “experts for biologics” are thus once again expanding their capacities by an additional 12,750 Euro pallet spaces, which are designed for the storage of finished medicinal products as well as production consumables or MedTech products. Pharmaserv Logistics also offers integrated pharmaceutical logistics solutions for blood products, insulin and vaccines at the new branch.
The logistics arm of Pharmaserv GmbH, based in the Behringwerke pharmaceutical and industrial park, has also focussed on sustainability in its new warehouse. For example, the logistics centre, which was built by VGP Industriebau GmbH in 2020, is equipped with photovoltaics and e-charging stations and is DGNB certified. It is also currently being converted to heat pump technology.
“Since the Pharmaserv Logistics brand was founded in 2015, we have seen steady and strong growth in our logistics services. With this additional pharmaceutical logistics centre, we will once again significantly increase the space we can offer our discerning pharmaceutical customers. This is a further step in the implementation of the growth strategy of our parent company, Infrareal Holding. Our aim in this regard is to acquire and operate further pharmaceutical sites,” said Dr Martin Egger, Managing Director of Infrareal Holding GmbH & Co. KG and Pharmaserv GmbH, in conclusion.
